For those seeking mindless video game-style action, “Columbiana” is a safe bet, since that’s about all you’ll find there. Woody Allen’s latest “Midnight in Paris” has been embraced by seemingly everyone except myself, but it’s still a film that can be easily enjoyed by just about anyone, especially those with an affinity for the classic style rom-com. If you know anyone who enjoys Westerns, “Blackthorn” is an interesting take on the legend of Butch Cassidy starring Sam Shepard. For those with narcolepsy, the financial crisis drama, “Margin Call” is sure to put anyone to sleep. So, you could be doing someone a favor, by saving the cost of meds. And finally, those who gravitate toward sports dramas but also like some genuine family tension would appreciate “Warrior” as a gift.
