This Week in DVD & Bluray (03-30-10)

March 29, 2010

It’s a little bit of a weak batch of DVD and Bluray releases this week, but there is something good for everyone in the family to enjoy!  Aside from a few first-time releases, there are a lot of re-releases, special editions, and TV seasons.  Enjoy the rundown!

Sherlock Holmes (2009) – DVD & Bluray – Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law team up as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, back for another adventure.  This time, they are hot on the case of Lord Blackwood, a sorcerer and serial killer who has recently come back from the dead, and is planning on taking control of England.

An Education (2009) – DVD & Bluray – “An Education” tells the story of a high school girl who has her life planned out for her, until she meets a much older man who shows her a world outside of her schoolwork and cello-playing.  Relative newcomer Carrie Mulligan plays Jenny, a role that earned her an Oscar nomination this year.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel (2009) – DVD & Bluray – Well, if you haven’t been counting down the days to seeing this movie, your kids probably have!  Twentieth Century Fox made a killing on the first “Chipmunks” film back in 2007, so why not pump out a second? …
