This Week on DVD & Bluray (08-10-10)

This week’s DVD/Blu-ray releases have a lil something for everyone. Of special note, are two Criterion Collections featuring the work of filmmaker and comic book aficionado Terry Zwigoff. Both his first film, 1986’s “Louis Bluie” about blues and string band musician Howard Armstrong and then there’s 1994’s “Crumb” about the noted underground comic artist R. Crumb and his family. Both are given the Criterion deluxe treatment for the first time. That along with “In the Shadow of the Moon” are my picks, after that it’s all up to you. As usual, go forth and conquer! Rent or purchase as you see fit! Here’s the Rundown….
