This Week on DVD & Bluray (07-19-11)

July 19, 2011

Yikes! What a lackluster batch of releases! But, like any week, there’s bound to something to whet somebody’s whistle. The two new releases are Neil Burger’s well-received-but-barely-seen “Limitless” and then there’s the 80s flick “Take Me Home Tonight” which sat on the shelf for about three years (what’s that say?). So, you’re better off building up your Criterion or Bluray collection with some releases that are new to that format. If you haven’t seen Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s “Amelie”, there’s no better time than now, as it is one of many titles that comes to Bluray for the first time. The rest is more of the usual, but with this being the week of SDCC, I must give a shout out to “Young Justice” a wonderful superhero cartoon focusing on the sidekicks of DC heroes. If that’s your thing and you haven’t checked the show yet, now’s the time!

We’ve only reviewed one of these titles (check out the link below), which either tells you that we can’t be everywhere or it’s a dry week. As usual, enjoy the Rundown….
