For those of you clamoring for The Complete Series of “King of Queens” or “Married…with Children”, this is your week! What’s that? Oh, maybe you’ve been eagerly anticipating the remake of “Footloose” and need something to hold you over? Well, you’re in luck, there’s a Deluxe Edition of the original out today. But seriously, folks….new to Blu-ray this week, is “Heathers”, (see clip below) the original Mean Girls, which surprisingly still holds up as cruel satire. The two biggest releases (literally), are William Wyler’s “Ben-Hur” and Olivier Assayas’ “Carlos”, both epics in their own right, one a classic hallmark and a aw look at an actual terrorist. “Carlos” made my Top Ten Films of 2010 last year and, although, it’s a commitment at 5.5 hours, it’s well worth it (you can stream it on Netflix). The rest is the usual assorted mix of straight-to-video, docs, foreign films, and limited releases that are finally available.
