This Week on DVD & Blu-ray (12-13-11)
December 13, 2011
This week finds three films from this past summer that are definitely worth your time – even if they are a remake, a reboot, and a sequel. I can’t believe I just typed that, but there it is and I stand by it. Notable new releases on Blu-ray are “City of God”, “Velvet Goldmine” and the long-awaited arrival of “The Rocketeer” has finally landed! A couple of musicals, “Meet Me in St. Louis” and “Stars and Stripes Forever” also make their way to Blu-ray for the first time. Films I plan on adding to my never-ending catch-up list: “Circumstance” and “Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame” (aka a title you can’t see on a marquee).
As usual, all previous reviews are highlighted below – Enjoy the Rundown!
