This Week on DVD & Blu-ray (12-27-11)
December 27, 2011
It’s the last batch of releases of the year! There’s really only a couple of titles to get excited about and they both have to do with rock and roll. “Pearl Jam Twenty” is a fine documentary of the Seattle band by longtime friend of the band Cameron Crowe, celebrating the twenty years together. Certainly worth a look-see for fans of the band. Then there’s “Sid & Nancy” starring the great Gary Oldman, coming out on Blu-ray for the first time to commemorate the film’s 25th anniversary. If you haven’t checked it out yet and are a fan of both Oldman and The Sex Pistols, now you have a great way to do so. Other than those two, the year ends in a whimper with releases of other movies that were either pretty awful or ones you never heard of (see trailer below), making you release why you’ve never heard of them.
