This is one of those rare weeks where the titles coming out on Blu-ray appear to be more enticing than anything new from this year. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything on this list that lasted in theaters this year for more than a week. Joseph Khan’s teen horror comedy “Detention” which was in theaters for about a week, is one example. Some hated. Others celebrated it. That’s got me curious enough. Since the “Total Recall” remake is coming out this week, we’re getting a Blu-ray of the original 1990 classic (yes, classic) deemed the “Mind-Bending Edition”. Also out this week on Blu-ray is “The Forever Marilyn Collection” commemorating the 50th anniversary of the death of Marilyn Monroe. The set collects seven of her best and most popular films (“The Misfits”, “Some Like It Hot”, “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “River Of No Return”, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, “How To Marry A Millionaire” and “The Seven Year Itch”. That’s a lot of Marilyn!
