This week is loaded with all sorts of goodies. Watch as Taylor Kitsch gets all wet with Rihanna and sinks another would-be blockbuster in Peter Berg’s “Battleship”! Enjoy an unconventional (by mainstream conventions) yet somewhat typical Apatow-produced rom-com in “The Five-Year Engagement” – so not a chick-flick, guys! Thrill to the Aardman Animation high-seas adventures of “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” in stop-motion glory! Other releases from earlier this year, “The Lucky One” and “Think Like a Man” both did pretty well at the box-office, are also out today. One that didn’t do so well is Lawrence Kasdan’s bomb “Darling Companion” starring Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline. I’m looking forward to the release of “Quadrophenia”, the film loosely based on classic rock opera by The Who, which gets the Criterion treatment, where there’s bound to be all sorts of great extras.
