This Week on DVD & Blu-ray (11-20-12)

The next couple of weeks seem to be kind of lackluster as far as big releases go. The biggest recent movie out this week would be last August’s “The Expendables 2”, a perfect move for those giving up on Thanksgiving football games and slipping fast into food coma. After all, it’s not like you’d be following a plot. Curiously, Criterion is releasing Michael Cimino’s “Heaven’s Gate” (I often confused it with “Heaven Can Wait”), a controversial movie for many reasons and long considering one of the worst movies ever made. Clearly, Criterion doesn’t think so. Another notable release is “Tarantino XX” celebrating 20 years of the director’s films with special Blu-ray releases of all the films he’s directed and the “True Romance”, the Tony Scott film Tarantino wrote. The set also includes a bunch of other bells and whistles and I imagine if you don’t own any of his films on Blu-ray, this would be the one to get.
That’s it for this week (no really!) Previous reviews are highlighted below. Enjoy the Rundown….
