The Week in DVD & Bluray (03-09-10)
It’s a good week for DVD and Bluray releases if you’re tweaking to see some of the Oscar nominees you missed in the theater! Good news! There are two Best Picture nominees coming out on DVD and Bluray, as well as a few other “gems”…
Up in the Air (2009) – DVD & Bluray
After such films as “Thank You for Smoking” and “Juno”, writer-director-producer Jason Reitman delivers “Up in the Air”. The film centers on Ryan Bingham, a travel-addict businessman who lacks the desire to connect with any other human on a personal level. When his company has decided to ground all travelling employees, Bingham is forced to interact with those in his life. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire (2009) – DVD & Bluray
If I never have to type that title again, I’ll die a happy man. An unlikely cast of actors and crew come together to produce one of the most celebrated films of 2009 in “Precious”. The story focuses on Clarice “Precious” Jones, a horribly underprivileged teenage girl from Harlem who must fight against all the obstacles in her life to try and make something of herself. “Precious” was nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture.
