This Week on DVD & Blu-ray (09-18-12)

This week is loaded with a booty of Blu-rays to choose from! There’s the long-awaited release of the Indiana Jones movies and the Criterion Collection of David Fincher’s “The Game” to name a few. Other new-to-blu titles include, Tim Burton’s “Ed Wood”, “Judge Dredd” to coincide with the reboot coming to theaters this week, and some suspense/scary/horror titles (just in time for Halloween) that range from “Halloween II” to “Queen fo the Damned”. But, if you’re really in for something different and unique, look no further than “The Cabin in the Woods”, which made our Top Five Films of 2012 (so far) list in July. There are several films I’m looking forward to playing catch-up with, such as: “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”, “Chico & Rita”, “Hysteria”, and “Bait 3D” (just kidding on that last one, well kinda).

 

Something I noticed this week as I was perusing the web, Lynne Shelton’s latest film “Your Sister’s Sister” is avail. to rent RIGHT NOW on Amazon Instant and iTunes (and other outlets possibly) for $6.99 U.S. dollars. Why is that a big deal? Because it doesn’t come out on DVD/Blu-ray until November 6th. That’s a big deal and it could quite possibly be, “The way of the future”, to quote Leonardo DiCaprio from “The Aviator”.
